Clients will often resist the suggestion by asserting that they would be missing out on the candidates by aligning themselves with a sole individual/organisation. There is also the worry that a consultant will “sit” on the assignment, not giving it the attention it deserves as there is no competition. Or, perhaps even worse, enter into an agreement with an agent who does not know how to proceed on an assignment correctly.
